Five time African champions Zamalek are expected to arrive in Nairobi Wednesday ahead of their CAF Confederations cup first leg match against Kenyan champions Gor Mahia this Sunday at the Kasarani stadium.

Gor Mahia have been pooled with the Egyptians in group D that also has Hussein Dey of Algeria and Petro Atletico of Angola.

Egyptian giants Zamalek are expected in the country tomorrow as the first group matches of the CAF Confederations Cup get underway this weekend in Africa.

Kogalo secured a ticket to the group stages of the competition after beating New Stars de Duala  of Cameroon over two legs, winning the home leg 2-1 on the 13th of this month at Kasarani before playing to a barren draw in the return leg in Cameroon a week later.

Their opponents Zamalek, who sit at the top of the Egyptian top flight table with 45 points from 18 matches, have lost just once in the Premier League, winning 14 and drawing three of the 18 matches they have played so far.

They come into the match against Gor Mahia at the back of 4-1 win over Masr Lel Maqassar yesterday.

After facing Zamalek this Sunday, Gor Mahia will travel to Angola to play Petro Atletico in their second group match on 13th of next month.

Elsewhere, the Comoros Football Federation has lodged a case at the Court of Arbitration for Sport over Cameroon’s participation at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations om Egypt.

A post on social media from the general manager of the Comoros team, Ben Amir Saadi, confirmed the move.

The Comoros believe that Cameroon should be excluded from the 2019 finals after having the hosting rights for the event withdrawn from them.

Comoros are in the same qualifying group as Cameroon, whom they face in March.

Comoros claim that CAF had failed to implement its own regulations concerning the action to be taken.

With Morocco on 10 points, Cameroon 8 and the Comoros 5, a draw in Cameroon will be enough for the Indomitable Lions to advance, while the Comoros must win to advance.
