Mombasa residents can now buy goods directly from global stores after online shopping platform, MallforAfrica expanded its activities to coastal city.
The firm’s Country Manager Naomi Konditi-Kivuvani said the expansion follows requests by local companies and individuals looking for a local collection point for items bought directly from stores in UK and US stores.
“The MallforAfrica platform will ensure goods bought by Mombasa shoppers from leading international stores in the US and UK such as Amazon, eBay, Macy’s, Zara and SportsDirect are delivered to their doorstep,” she said.
Ms Konditi-Kivuvani said MallforAfrica had also expanded in 17 African countries enabling intra-African trade to thrive where shoppers will access the platform via downloading of the App from Googleplay store, IOS and Android or on Chrome on desktop computers.
“Initially, Mombasa residents had to either travel or send someone to collect their items from our Nairobi office. Through our unique platform, they are now able to order and purchase items via their mobile phones that will be delivered to them,” she said.
Ms Konditi-Kivuvani said users will pay for their purchases via local payment solutions among them mobile phone payment platform, M-Pesa and plastic payment cards.
She said the Mombasa office will also enable customers to enjoy after-sales services from returns, refunds and exchange services atop MallforAfrica’s round-the-clock order tracking.
The country manager said small and medium business (SMEs) in the Coastal region will enjoy preferential terms on the platform when placing orders with retailers using their site.
