National Assembly Majority leader Aden Duale now says Jubilee MPs are awaiting direction from President Uhuru Kenyatta on calls for the amendment of the constitution.

Calls to amend the constitution continue to dominate public debate with those pushing for the same saying it could provide the ultimate solution to the perennial problems faced by the Country every election year.

But the proposal which came into focus after the famous handshake between President Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga has attracted criticism and praise in equal measure.

A section of MPs claim it is also a plan to scuttle Deputy President William Ruto chances of succeeding President Kenyatta in 2022.

Duale now says the jubilee party will seek guidance from its leader President Uhuru Kenyatta and until then, will focus towards the realization of the big four agenda.

This even as Tharaka Nithi Governor Muthomi Njuki dismissed calls for a referendum saying it will only act to overburden the taxpayer.

Meanwhile Hariet Kerubo Ong’era, a Jubilee party nominated MCA in Kisii County now claims her position has been taken over illegally by Muene Moturi, a colleague in the party

Ong’era’s who is yet to be sworn in claims that her woes started when the party inadvertently indicated her name in the nominees’ gazettment list as male prompting the electoral body to pick her colleague since the position was reserved for a female.
