President Uhuru Kenyatta is urging Kenyans to live in peace and unity with their compatriots to enable the country to progress.

The President said that development and growth will be impossible to achieve when citizens are not enjoying peace.

He called on leaders to work together for the sake of the wellbeing of the public and the nation.

“Development and peace will have no space if there is enmity between leaders. There is a time for competition and there is time for development. Now is the time for development,” said the President.

President Kenyatta spoke in Kilgoris, Narok County,  where he attended the wedding of Dan Kijabe and Naserian Ketuyio. Dan Kijabe is a nephew of Narok Governor Samuel ole Tunai.

The President thanked the people of Kilgoris for living in peace with their neighbours, noting that the problem of cattle rustling is now a thing of the past in the area.

He also thanked the leaders of Narok for working together and keeping aside their political differences.

Leaders including Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko also attended the wedding.
