Mathare United have secured a multi-million sponsorship with betting firm Odibet that will run for three seasons.

The Slum Boys have been without a sponsor for the entire 2018 season following the expiry of their previous sponsorship deals with Britam and Betway.

After a promising start to the season that saw them feature in the top four for majority of the first leg, their performance plummeted due to financial issues.

Speaking to Nation Sport, club CEO Jecton Obure said that the sponsorship is a big reprieve as they strategize on mounting a strong challenge for the league title next season.

“This sponsorship has come at the right time because we have been struggling financially. It is a big boost for our preparations for next season which starts in December. We have a good team and we believe that if we make good signings and have a good pre-season, we can challenge for honours,” said an optimistic Obure.
