Former Kenyan Premier league champions Mathare United beat 10 man Posta Rangers 1-0 in a league match played Wednesday at the Moi International sports Centre Kasarani.

Striker Clifford Alwanga scored the lone goal three minutes from time, taking advantage of defender Kennedy Onyango’s dismissal only a minute earlier.

Despite the win the slum boys are still at the position 8th on the league table while Rangers lie one place above the relegation zone.

In other matches, the 2018 Champions Gor Mahia lost their third consecutive match after going down 2-0 to Vihiga United at the Mumias Complex.

Vihiga United netted the two goals from Amos Kigadi and Dennis Wafula and jump to the 12th position on the log.

In Kericho, Zoo FC defeated  Ulinzi stars 1-0 thanks to a 25th goal from Benard Odhiambo.

Ulinzi stars lie fourth on the table while Zoo FC is at the eleventh position.


In other results, AFC Leopards suffered a 4-0 loss at the hands of Tusker FC; Kakamega Homeboyz trounced Sony 1-0, while the match pitting hosts Bandari and Sofapaka was postponed to Thursday morning after being called off due to heavy downpour in Mombasa.  

Nakumatt drew 1-1 against Nzoia Sugar while Kariobangi Sharks defeated Wazito FC 2-1.
