KCB FC kept pressure on SportPesa Premier League defending champions Gor Mahia in a tight match played at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos County on Sunday as KCB won 1-0.

The Bankers netted the first goal courtesy of Kennedy Owino during the first half.

The match started with a good build up from the bankers in the opening minute. Gor had the first attempt on the ball, but it went wide.

KCB masterminded one of football’s array of attacks and their efforts bore fruits on the 22nd minute as Owino netted in a superb goal. Owino wriggled himself free of the last defender so slot in the ball in the bottom corner.

KCB won a throw in the final third but missed an opportunity for volley but missed netting by a whisker.

Their opponents tried attacking through the flanks but the ball rolled out for a goal kick as the first half got underway. The second half started with a Gor Mahia attack, but KCB keeper stopped the stinger.

KCB held on to their one nil lead till the final minutes.


KCB will now face Posta Rangers at Ruaraka Sports club on 6th February 2019.
