Kanbis A will look to stretch their lead at the top of the Super Division when they welcome Nairobi Gymkhana at the Eastleigh High School grounds on Sunday.

The league leaders, who are unbeaten in eight Super Division outings, lead the standings with 39 points, 15 points ahead of second-placed Stray Lions and third-placed Swamibapa who are level on 24 points.

The hosts, led by former national team skipper Rakep Patel, are big favourites to floor Nairobi Gymkhana – who are fourth with 10 points. Patel will be supported by Nelson “Mandela” Odhiambo, Dhiren Gondaria, Narendra Kerai, Ankit Hirani and Vinod Rabadia in the batting line up.

Rajesh Budhia will lead bowling attack alongside Odhiambo, Kerai, Rakep and Pushpak Kerai.

Nairobi Gymkhana will rely on top batsman Karan Kaul in their quest to leapfrog fifth-placed Cutchi Leva – who also have 10 points. The other batsmen are Rushab Patel, Lucas Oluoch, Dominic Wesonga, Veer Dave and Harsh Patel.

Oluoch will lead the bowling attack where he will have Wesonga and Raj Savala for support.

Elsewhere, Stray Lions will be home to bottom-placed Ruaraka at Peponi School in a game that the Lions are expected to stroll to victory. Favourites Swamibapa will travel to Nairobi West where they will be hosted by Cutchi Leva at Samaj School.

In the Plate Division, Kongonis will be home to Kanbis B at Nairobi Club as Sikh Union host Obuya Academy. Sir Ali Muslim Club will travel to South C to face Ngara.

At the end of the season, the last two teams in the Super Division will be relegated while the top two in the Plate will be promoted. Ruaraka, who are yet to pick a point in the top tier, are early candidates for relegation.
