Kajiado Governor Joseph Ole Lenku has dismissed the Auditor General Edward Ouko report indicating Kajiado County is among counties that never used a coin on development in the last financial year.

Ouko had indicated most of the money disbursed by the National Government was spent on salaries, foreign trips among other county expenditures in both Executive and Kajiado Assembly.

The report indicated the development budget was sidelined centrally to the law.

The governor said the report was a baseless propaganda meant to tarnish the county image.

Ole Lenku says the report should be condemned in the strongest term possible urging Kajiado resident to ignore it.

The first time Governor says the county government has undertaken hundreds project since he ascended to office to improve residents’ lives including health facilities, water projects, road work and ECD classes.

At the same time the Governor has assented three county acts to streamline operation in his county Government namely; The County Administrative Structures Act (2018);The County Inspectorate Service Act (2018); The County Emblems, Symbols and Names Act(2018).

The administrative structures are expected to be re-organized to ensure improved services to locals and the inspectorate department officers have power to arrest and prosecutor offenders of county laws.
