Many know Diana Marua as Bahati’s wife. Diana Marua’s pregnancy has been in the gossip columns for a while now. Since she was almost due many things had to be done starting with the baby shower. It is no secret that Bahati is not afraid to spend money when it comes to his loved ones. He made sure that the baby shower was one of a kind characterized by pomp and colour. The lavish event was an invite only thus limiting the number of people that attended. The location for the baby shower was one of the city hotels called Sovereign Suites Hotel and was only open to close friends and family.  It is the couple’s second child with the firstborn being a girl. Here are photos from Diana Marua’s glamorous baby shower:

1. He or she, what will you be?

The party was a gender reveal as much as it was a baby shower. To celebrate this occasion a big cake was necessary and big it was! The cake was baked by Diana Marua’s friend. In this photo, Diana and Bahati cut the cake together to celebrate their union as a couple expecting their child. The big question of the day was whether the child would be a boy or girl. Later on, the two revealed that the expected child would be a baby boy. It was welcomed news since their firstborn daughter will now have a brother to look after and play with. Diana and Bahati will be celebrating this moment for the rest of their lives.

2. Couples pose

In this photo, the Bahati’s and the  Wajesus’ family pose for a picture to celebrate the moment. Both Milly and Kabi are friends of Diana and Bahati. They wouldn’t miss this opportunity to welcome their friends’ baby into this world. Diana couldn’t hide her happiness, and she thanked the two for their energy that made the party end in high adrenaline.

3. The girl club

The Sovereign Suites Hotel had the honour of hosting these beautiful girls during Diana Marua’s baby shower. Surprisingly, most of the women in this picture started by conducting businesses together before they became friends. As Diana puts it, they have grown fond of one another she can literally rely on them for any help, and they would oblige. As a caption for the picture, Diana gives thanks to everyone for the support given during the baby shower.

4. The Bahati’s expectant

The highlight of this picture is how heavily pregnant Diana Murua is. These were the last days of her pregnancy, but she had the energy not only to grace the baby shower but also to take pictures with those in attendance with a big smile. Diana’s dress matches well with the theme of the function, which is white and pink. On his part, Bahati did not shy from his fashion sense. He was clad in black trousers, a white t-shirt and a green coat. Accolades to the couple for this milestone. We hope to see this child grow up to follow in the footsteps of his parents.

5. The winner is blue!

Well, the guests were supposed to dress in either blue or pink according to what they thought the gender of the child would be. Maureen Waititu is one of those who guessed it right by wearing a blue dress, meaning that the child would be a boy. Maureen Waititu expressed her joy at having guessed it right and thanked the Bahati’s for sharing this moment with her. Maureen Waititu is an entrepreneur, a mother, a lawyer, a TV host, a YouTuber, among other things. It shows the type of friends that associate with the Bahati’s.

6. A family’s support

People would have asked where Diana’s family is were it not for this picture. Pictured is Bahati, Diana’s sister and Diana herself. It proves that Diana has great support from her family and thanks to them for never abandoning her. Thanks to the caption we get to know who Diana’s sisters are. They are Michelle and Varl.

7. Irene Nzisa feeling the baby

Irene Nzisa was one of the guests at the baby shower. She also participated in the photoshoot before taking to her Instagram page to announce the good news to her fans. In this picture, Irene and Bahati have bowed while Diana stands tall. It implies that the two would do anything to support Diana in times of difficulty to ensure that she remains standing tall. However, Irene also stole the show at the baby shower with people admiring the dress she wore.

8. A moment of love

It will leave haters drooling, but all that matters is the love between the two. Kenyans are conservative about kissing in public, but some situations call for it. Here Bahati is seen kissing his pregnant wife, which is a way to celebrate their love as they wait to welcome another fruit of their love.

9. More love

Marriage is not easy. Sometimes couples fight and do not show support as often as they should. Bahati and Diana Marua want to show that marriage can be a good story without all the fighting. One way to achieve this is to support each other and know what roles to play. Diana has been thankful to Bahati for gifting her the baby shower, and Bahati has also praised his wife for being a strong woman. To cement the occasion, Diana is giving Bahati a slice of the cake.

10. Bahati spills beans

Winnie Shareefa was the MC at the function. It led to Bahati revealing some secrets that some people may not have known. Bahati alleges that in the beginning, Winnie did not want him to approach Diana to be his girlfriend. He claims Winnie thought he was too innocent and thus wouldn’t be a good match for Diana. Fast forward now Bahati is married to Diana, and they are expecting a second child. He poses a rhetorical question about how Winnie feels regarding these events but thanks her for being there.

Being married to Bahati is a blessing in many ways. It means Diana Marua will have the support of Bahati’s fans. It also comes with many challenges, given that they are a celebrity couple. The bar is set high for many things, such as ensuring the baby shower is perfect to detail. That notwithstanding, Bahati and Diana were able to pull it off in a spectacular fashion treating family and friends to a memorable baby shower that has been the talk of the town for the better part of the week.

I’m a big fan of Breeder LW. In my opinion, he is one of the fastest rising rappers in Kenya. His approach to music is very unique and the chances that you’ll love his songs the first time you listen to them are very high.

I have always wanted to interview him so I reached out about a fortnight ago and he was kind enough to return my phone call.

Breeder LW

We spoke about a number of things including; his musical journey, the Gengetone wave, influences, future projects and whatnot.

You should have seen the shock on my face when I learnt that he has been doing music since 2013. The reason I was taken aback was because most people came to know him after he featured on Khali Cartel 3 in 2019.

Breeder also shared his thoughts on the Gengetone wave. People have been saying that the sound – which has ruled the airwaves  for the last two years – became boring and it’s now a thing of the past.

However, Breeder does not share these sentiments. According to him, the sound is alive and what’s happening is that it’s evolving and during this phase some artists will be phased out while others will continue to shine.

I also asked the Inde hitmaker if he has ever considered joining a group and he told me that he was in a duo when he was starting off but it’s not something he would consider at the moment because it would limit him.

I am sure you are pondering how he got to feature on Khaligraph Jones’ Khali Cartel 3, the song that introduced him to Kenyans, and apparently, they met in 2019 and he promised to work with him in future.

Listen to the interview below.

At the End of June, It Will Be Life Support for Kenyan SMEs

Published

on

Loading...

Seventy-five (75%) percent of Kenyan Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) will be running the risk of collapsing at the end of June as COVID-19 continues to ravage the business entities that form the bedrock of the country’s economy.

Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) Governor Dr. Patrick Njoroge in a Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) virtual briefing on Thursday expressed concern that three-quarters of small and medium Kenyan businesses do not have the wherewithal to withstand the pandemic stressing the urgent need for a formula to stop their imminent death.

According to Dr Njoroge, a survey conducted by the monetary policy regulator in April shows that SMEs are running on empty, struggling to sustain operations including paying suppliers.

“Whatever policy action put in place to help MSMEs needs to go beyond finance, into finance plus, including linkages to other markets, ” said Dr. Njoroge.

The CBK Governor also called on Kenyans not to hesitate sharing the challenges they are facing while servicing their loans adding that the regulator is working with banks to make sure that borrowers get the relief they need to to overcome the crisis.

As part of the measures to support businesses, Njoroge said, Kenyans should be ready to explain the challenges they are experiencing with their banks while servicing loans.

Thursday’s briefing was a follow up of a Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) decision to maintain the base lending rate at 7.00%.

Worrying Times

SMEs form the cream of Kenya’s economy constituting 98% of all businesses in the country according to CBK statistics.

Conversely, this boards gloom for the SMEs which employ approximately 14.9 million Kenyans.

As it stands, SMEs have already taken a beating from the restriction of movement within and outside the country compounded by the widespread loss of jobs in the country.

In the same vein, another survey by the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS) shows that a third of Kenyans are struggling to pay rent over the pandemic.

The survey dubbed Socio-Economic Impact of COVID-19 on Households Report, 30.5 percent of households were unable to pay rent on the agreed date in April citing reduced income.

All these factors combined are piling pressure on the government to reopen the economy to cushion Kenyans who are struggling to sustain their livelihoods without a source of income.
